The development team gradually became famous for the Lunar series before this. This is what we had come to expect from the developers of the game namely Game arts. The story is very great with a likeable cast of characters. I mean come on Final Fantasy, still using text boxes? The sounds and music are of good quality and the game had voice overs in certain parts of the game. The visuals are really well done and the game has a fresh style. Well the camera angle in the game shared a viewpoint similar to that of Xenogears and breath of fire 4. Well when I got home and played it for the first time, well I guess I put my life on hold just to play this game! Hmm dont know much about it but I think I'll give it a shot. To me this was just one of those games that you walk in to the shop, just take a look at it and think. The Saturn version was only released in Japan and most gamers almost missed out on this Gem. I've never been more emotionally attached to a cast of characters (Justin, Sue, Gadwin, Leen and especially Feena <3) The single gripe I have with the game is how extremely easy it is, however the combat system is unique and damn near perfect! I've played games for 11 years but Grandia has the biggest heart, enthusiasm, memorable soundtrack, amazing sprites, a few scenes that made me empathize and cry tears of joy and sorrow. To but it simple, If anyones comes over this page then that means you've already searched for Grandia with the intention of perhaps playing it, if you are in doubt, don't be, this game holds up even today. My first choice was Grandia and among others I looked at where Final Fantasy IX, Xenogears, Vagrant Story, The Legend of Dragoon, Valkyrie Profile, Chrono Trigger and finally Chrono Cross which I plan to play next :) So over a week ago I gave it another chance because I was looking over some of the RPG's I never played/heard of for the PS1 which had pretty good userscores on gamespot. I once installed ePSXe 1.7.0 a year ago, but because of lack of information from where I got it, I didn't know about all the plugins to make it work.
